We wanted to share something close to our hearts.
Eric’s Circle of Light was created in loving memory of our dear friend, Eric Spencer Richenstein (1982–2020). Eric lit up every room he entered. He cherished his family and friends, loved the outdoors, and had a deep compassion for children and wildlife. His warmth, generosity, and joyful spirit continue to guide and inspire everything we do.
To celebrate the life he lived and the light he shared, we created Eric’s Circle of Light, a program that carries his legacy forward by giving young people around the world access to learning, creativity, and connection. This initiative is part of Photo Start’s mission to empower youth through photography and life skills, helping them find their voices and imagine new possibilities.
When the world shut down, we opened new doors. What began as a way to stay connected during the pandemic quickly became a lasting part of our mission: providing quality, creative education to young people who need it most, no matter where they are. Today, Eric’s Circle of Light continues to thrive through a combination of in-person and online learning, reaching students in both local communities and remote areas around the globe.
Eric believed in kindness, possibility, and the goodness in people—and that’s exactly what this program brings to life.
